I was born in Michigan but moved to Maryland when I was 5.  My family attended church every week.  My mom was our church organist and I helped in the nursery, attended youth group, and was an acolyte.  Sometimes I played my flute in church for special music.  I came to really know Christ when I was in the 10th grade.  I attended a concert by the Continental Singers in Hagerstown where I went forward for the first time.  After that I have to say not a lot changed for me.  My parents decided to change churches and I had to make new friends at the new one.  I didn't really like it there so I skipped a lot.  I used work and other things as excuses.  A few years after I got married we were living in Leesburg, VA and some cousins of my husband talked us into attending their church.  It was very friendly and we liked it a lot so we became regular attenders.  When we moved to Michigan we were invited to attend an Easter Cantata at one of the biggest churches in town so we went and we never left (well, not until we had to move again).  The Cantata was so awesome!  We came back the next day for the Easter service and every Sunday after that.  I even ended up working as the secretary to the Pastor of Congregational Care.  Our first daughter was dedicated in that church and my husband and I got baptized in Lake Michigan!  When we moved to Pennsylvania a few years later, we had a difficult time finding a church that was as great as the one in Michigan.  It's so hard to "church shop."  You compare everything and nit-pik at the silliest stuff.  But eventually we settled in and had our second daughter dedicated at our church in Manheim, PA.  But then we had to move again; this time to Frederick, Maryland.  So we started looking again.  It took awhile but we found Fredericktowne Baptist Church and have been members there for 16 years, where my husband serves as a trustee.

I have been married for 27 years and we have 2 daughters, Rachel and Emily. Rachel is attending FCC where she is studying Computer Graphics and Photography. She plans to transfer to Frostburg State Univ. next fall.  Emily is a Senior at WHS. She plans to attend ECU (East Carolina Univ.) in the fall of 2012 and major in Elementary Education. She currently plays high school and tournament Softball (Go Lions and Go Heartbreakers!)

In my spare time I enjoy reading and dog training and I have played my oboe in the FCC Wind Ensemble as well as our church's praise band. Oh yes, and we love the Ravens and watching football!  Go Ravens! and Go Walkersville Lions!

I enjoy my job at YFC and I look forward to meeting more of you at each of our annual events.  God Bless!
